Heavy Demon

In N.O.V.A.

The Heavy Demon is a gigantic ape-like Xeno caretaker.

It has a very powerful energy shield, and shoots cannon-like lava balls out of the holes in its arm cannons. It is unknown if these balls are produced by the armor, or if they are produced naturally. This particular species can also teleport short distances, giving it an unfair advantage. They are very dangerous and are a force to be reckoned with. The aliens don't appear in N.O.V.A. 3.

Appearance

In N.O.V.A. 2

Heavy Demons appear as Giant gorrilas with no hair. They wear very little armour but have powerful shields and thick, tough skin. Their arms are covered by two very large arm cannons that fire balls of plasma.

Combat

Heavy Demons use their arm cannons to fire 2 spheres of superheated lava at their targets. Their arm cannons have a sophisticated targeting system that allow their spheres to home in on their targets. They also teleport to a better spot if their targets are out of range.

Trivia

• They are similar in concept to the Mancubus from the Doom saga.
  • Curiously, the design of the Heavy Demons in N.O.V.A. 2 is similar to the design of the Mancubus from Doom (2016) since this game came out some time after N.O.V.A. 2.
• They are the only Xenos that don't wear body armour
