Jetpack

In N.O.V.A. 3

Jetpacks are user-operated jet engines mounted on the back, used by both N.O.V.A. and the Human-Volterite Alliance. It is used primarily for atmospheric flight and in the case of "Red Fury" Troopers and Stingers, appears to use quite explosive fuel, making usage of certain types of jetpack unadvisable in combat.

Skull Crushers also use jetpacks in combat, these ones allowing short-distance "jumps" through the air for faster travel to compensate for their heavy armor.

In both N.O.V.A. Elite and N.O.V.A. 3 jetpacks can be purchased for an aerial advantage in competetive play.

N.O.V.A. Elite[]

In N.O.V.A. Elite there are two types of jetpack. The first is the Propellor, which enables the user to jump extremely high by giving a quick boost. The second is Jetpack Class 1-A, which propels the user high into the air and, unlike the Propellor, allows for a short period of sustained flight.

N.O.V.A. 3[]

Jetpacks are most commonly used in the N.O.V.A. 3 Multiplayer setting. They are bought in the Armory for 20750 credits. Surprisingly, jetpackers do not take damage when falling down when out of jet fuel. The only time Jetpacks are used ingame is on the level Hell's Gate, in which Kal Wardin has picked up a Stinger jetpack in order to traverse a field of floating platforms. At the end of the floating platforms, Yelena states to Kal that the jetpack is out of fuel.

Trivia[]

  • During multiplayer a good defense against players with a jet pack is to stay in a building where the ceiling is low like the interiors in Lost World so it will be easier to shoot them. Providing they don't have a RPG.
